If there weren’t so many appetizing and appealing foods… I could probably eat panCAKEs every day…. I love pancakes… What I most love about them is… they can be made in so many different ways… I can change the mix(ture), flavor, color and shape… It’s very similar to making cake… Perhaps, the only difference is… the texture of the batter, some of the ingredients used, pancakes are generally flatter… though they can be fluffy too… and in most cases… less sweetener is used… I’m not sure that I’ve seen frosted pancakes, albeit, I like this idea…
Pancakes are most times… served with a very tasty syrup, sauce, glaze or drizzle poured over the top of them… I am quite pleased when there are other delightful toppings added, such as fresh fruit, dried fruits, cacao nibs or chocolate chips, coconut flakes and/or powdered spices… There are other fun, unique and enjoyable things I can do to add more flavor, yet there are those occasions when the experience of eating pancakes is just as pleasant with only plain syrup, such as maple, or simply with nothing else at all… When the batter has everything needed, the pancakes will taste good all by themselves… To be pleased by the taste of pancakes alone… and/or by pancakes with added dressings and toppings… undoubtedly, increases the overall experience… As I am writing this… I can’t help but hear my own muse’s dialogue… Hmmmmm… Let’s see what variety of pancake I’ll come up with next… It is so… so… much joy in being an artist… a creative human being… who enjoys not only a lovely end result… but the entire process too… And clearly… I am a creative individual who tremendously enjoys fulfillingly amazing foods…
Who decided pancakes could be had for… breakfast… brunch… lunch… and/or dinner… What a genius… BIG SMILE… They can also be had as a snack and even as dessert… It’s quite wonderful to have a food that is this deliciously versatile and so deeply… and completely satisfying… regardless of what time of day or night eaten… Maybe the next time I want to make birthday… holiday… or dessert cake… I’ll stack a batch of sweet, fluffy and tasty pancakes one on top of the other… cover with a creamy frosting, glaze or drizzle… decorate with yummy and artful toppings… and simply smile and say, panCAKEs served… Enjoy!
May I brag… just a little… I recently made sweet potato pancakes with fresh blackberry maple syrup… They were perfectly moist… had a delectable subtle sweetness… were just fluffy enough… and were absolutely awesome served with a savory side salad… My family and I had them as our Breakfast For Dinner meal… One of the specialties of the Natural Food Art Cafe… I’ll be making sweet potato pancakes again… I’ve posted the ones I previously made in the gallery on the Natural Food Art Cafe page… They can also be seen on my social media pages… The pancakes shown in this post are banana pumpkin spice… A very yummy combination….
