For my family and I, the perfect way to bring in spring is by being near the sea shore. It is a relaxing and rejuvenating experience for us. There’s lots of movement transpiring and plenty of bright colors coming forth and still life remains calm… peaceful. Albeit, in New England there is sometimes a chill in the air during the transition from winter into spring, it is sincerely fulfilling to take a walk along the golden brown sands, close to the ocean’s tides, being massaged by the breeze. While walking along the shore I am continually inspired to capture images that completely lift me. There’s consistently an immeasurable amount of phenomenon in just this one place. A place where all the elements of Nature gather together and make magic.

By the sea… In Connecticut, I’ve learned of new sandy places on or by the shore. Some of these places I’ve grown to love. Some have sands that are rocky while others have softer and smoother sands. The rockier sands should be an artist’s dream. The plethora of small pebbles, medium sized stones and large rocks make for the perfect medium to create a variation of rock designs and formations. I love coming upon the designs and formations already made in the sand or at the edges of the water. They bring out a happy disposition in me. They make my mind, heart and soul smile.

Within the last year, perhaps more, as I walk along the beaches or simply stand in the shallow waters between sand and shore, I’ve noticed more the undulating waves of sand made by the movements of the wind and water. I’ve seen sand waves countless times throughout my life, nonetheless, I’ve become more in awe of them recently. I think it is due to the development of my photographer’s eye. I am seeing things around me, including sand waves, like works of art, so I make sure to capture them. Much of what I capture is quite organic. Works of art by The Most High and Nature.

Photography moves me to see life through various lenses and from multiple perspectives. Yet, dance, movement… motion… brings me to experience the life present in life, so I can dance with life… dance with Nature … with the world around me and with others, allowing me to experience more the life within my own self. This is why I love being near the ocean, because it dances for me and with me.

There are myriad paths in life. Some of them can be discovered in just one place or in a number of places. I found several paths side by side, flowing in a dance together, as I walked between the ocean and sand. I too found a number of paths within a labyrinth I’ve had the pleasure to walk in more than one place I’ve visited. During my sojourns the paths I’ve found, along the beach, within a labyrinth, in other places… have led me inward… to love more too the gifts I find outward …

As I continue the dance of my own life, the existing and new discoveries found within myself and in the places I happen to be consistently open me to greater awareness and perspectives. There are brief moments and longer durations of time when I simply lie, sit or stand still and enjoy witnessing what already is. There are as well brief moments and longer durations of time when I simply look on to witness what miraculous experiences will come.

Spring forward… Spring backward… Dance for Life… Dance with Life… Letting every new season surprise me with existing life, with new life… Letting every new journey and the paths I take bring me where peace, health, joy, inspiration and prosperity will ebb and flow and be abundant. May your life travels be fulfilling too… BIG SMILE.

We have the capacity and potential to always be a blessing in our own lives, in the lives of others and in this magical and magnificent world of ours…
