A yummy warm meal…
on a beautiful winter day…
is always pleasing to my soul…
A deliciously cool dessert…
made into spoonfuls of warm love…
is another heavenly experience…
served by glass… plate or bowl…
I’m a woman who loves wearing socks on my feet indoors… every season… all year long… irregardless of the temperature inside and the weather outdoors… I love snuggling with my blanket while falling asleep whether it’s cold, warm or hot in my immediate environment… Simply… I enjoy the feeling of warmth… warm socks… warm blankets… warm hugs… warm food… warm drinks… warm smiles… Wrapping my hands around a warm mug of steaming tea or hot cocoa… or around a warm and spicy bowl of soup is always a perfect compliment for any chilly day… This past winter… you could indeed find me doing wonderful and cozy things that kept me warm… but there was one change for me, over the months that gave us here in New England colder temps… ice cream…
Raw… vegan… appetizing… flavorful… ice cream… became a favorite dessert on the menu in my family home… Throughout the winter months… I spent time in the kitchen coming up with different varieties of ice-creams and sorbets… and other desserts my family and I could enjoy for the holidays… and that I could showcase in the Natural Food Art Cafe gallery… and enjoy at upcoming pop-up cafes… As seen on the Natural Food Art Cafe official page… and on my social media feeds… there were several desserts I succeeded in creating… that were amazingly delicious… I think I might’ve surprised myself with a few… only because they were first-time creations… Little did I know… that on the coldest days of the year… ice-cream would become one of the Natural Food Art Cafe’s most desired desserts… of all of the desserts I’ve created… I don’t think I’ve ever had ice-cream and sorbet as much as I did this year… in any of my years prior, especially during the coldest season of the year…
Cold… Who thought about being cold… while an absolutely tasty dish/glass of ice-cream or sorbet was sitting in front of them… Not me… or my family… The variety of ice-creams and sorbets we came up with had such delightful ingredients in them, including… perfectly ripened fruits… aromatic herbs and spices… creamy nut and coconut milks… natural sweeteners, only if we wanted to give our palates a little more divine sweetness… and whatever else we thought would liven up the mixture before it was poured into the container it solidified its form in… I’ll give you just a sample here… of flavors you’ll get to try at a Natural Food Art Cafe Pop-up Cafe… Chocolate Peanut Butter… My mom adored this rich, delectable, chocolatey ice-cream… Matcha Green Tea ice-cream and sorbet… The Matcha Green Tea sorbet was made with avocado… Vanilla Curry Spice… The curry spice was brought back for me from Dubai… Mint Leaf sorbet… made with fresh, organic mint leaves… Vanilla Bean Beet sorbet… creamy Chocolate Tahini Vanilla Bean sorbet… Saffron Cinnamon Spice ice-cream… Sweet Potato Almond Chai ice-cream… and the list goes on… You’ll see some of the varieties enjoyed by me and my family within the above gallery… They’ll be in the photo and recipe book with their ingredients… along with so many more innovative… artistic food and beverage compositions…
This past winter 2017/18… there were more cooler meals added to the menu, yet those of us who got to enjoy them remained with beautifully warm hearts… souls… and tummies… I truly look forward to another bowl/plate/glass of ice-cream or sorbet that will cause my eyes to brighten… and make my taste buds smile with indescribable pleasure… I also look forward to rendering the same for those who will partake with me in this amazing Natural Food Art Cafe experience and creative food journey… The Natural Food Art Cafe has been one of my most insightful… extraordinary… and gratifying ventures… The foods I’ve learned about… and have prepared… the individuals I’ve met and get to share with… and the new raw and vegan foods I’ve gotten to taste and enjoy… have made my life so much more ful-filling… Saying that this journey of food creation… styling… and photography is simply… satisfying… barely touches the overall truth of my experience… The foods I’ve eaten… styled and photographed, truthfully, have been more than satisfying… they have not only warmed my heart and soul… and my tummy… they have up-lifted me… Perhaps, heavenly, is a word I will consider more… as I think about what has already come… and as I contemplate what will come next… BIG SMILE…
