I adore being by the ocean or simply bodies of water, lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, brooks… I appreciate what they offer, including scenery, sound and movement. I too love watching the graceful and playful dance of the life, including the plants, that inhabit these places. What we witness from the waters and the life within them can encourage us to be content, playful and resourceful. Speaking of resourceful, the waters have become the source of inspiration for my culinary experiences in the area of sea food.

I’ve previously written about some of my culinary experiences with sea food. I have as well shared recipes and images of my past creations. It has been an absolutely enjoyable exploration, experiment and journey making succulent foods that remind us of the sea. I’ve discovered a variety of earth and sea vegetables and too seasonings that give us the taste and flavors of the fresh and salt winds and waters… Increasing my knowledge about earth and water plants and their versatility has made my culinary journey quite fun. There are a plethora of plant ingredients and foods that can be used to keep us close to what so many of us have enjoyed, time by the waters, including the sea.

Memories of my childhood bring me back to the parks, ponds, lakes and beaches where my mom often kept us and to the waters where my dad taught us about fishing. Playing with Pollywogs or tadpoles, allowing our feet to be tickled by tiny fish, digging in the sand for sea shells and being on the water in our boat are times that remain unforgettable. I am in many ways like the child of my earlier years. I am still mesmerized by pollywogs or tadpoles, I enjoy submerging my feet in water with little fish that tickle them, I collect sea shells I find in the sand, sometimes to keep and other times just because they are reminders I am in one of my happy places. And I throughly cherish being on boats. Maybe these occasions are the reason sea food is truly fascinating to me. And as well because the waters are common to multitudes of people… I’ve Gone Fishin’… Plant Based Fishin’… For Sea Food… There’ll be more faux fish to be enjoyed… BIG SMILE…
