Peers… Pairs… Pears… And A Fun-Loving Seer…

Can pears have peers. There are several varieties of peers. Not all of them are the same, nonetheless, they are still pears. Yet, pears can have other fruits beside pears as peers. Perhaps, apples and oranges can be peers too. Maybe even pomegranates, bananas and mangoes. What about kiwis and coconuts. There are avocados too and tomatoes and pineapples and watermelon. There are many other fruit as well, however, too many to name.

This will be a light write-up since summer is right around the corner and the longer and lighter days are calling for more outdoor adventures and fun. I’ve shared about past travels and photos of some of the absolutely gorgeous locations I’ve been to. Some of these places I visited with my family. It has become a favorite thing for me to do, find new and breath-taking places and spaces to travel to both in my own state and out of state. My road trips with my family to explore fresh locations, including local and National Parks became more frequent around mid 2000. Around this time my awareness grew regarding the limitless beauty in Connecticut, my home state.

Let’s get back to pears. Sumner is great for pear picking. I haven’t done so yet, but I have gone apple, blueberry and pumpkin picking. This summer I’ll take a trip to a local farm or orchard and pick pears. My family will enjoy this. We love pears. This spring I decided to try a couple different ways to prepare and serve this delicious fruit. I made scrumptious slow baked cinnamon sugar pears along with cinnamon sugar fried pears. I got the idea to do so after learning about and watching videos on how to prepare poached pears. I didn’t poach my pears, for I wanted to do something different, so I coated them in cinnamon sugar and slow baked and fried them instead.

This is my pair or these are my pairs. The two types of pears I made and served for our family desserts. We enjoyed our slow baked and fried pears served with an orange, lemon and lime spice reduction sauce and candied apple skins and pecans. I will make these desserts again. Next time I’ll try our pears, raw or heated, with a different coating and reduction sauce. There are other foods that make for a delightful pair, chocolate with strawberries, yummy, and cake with ice-cream. I also like other pairs, for instance, matching shoes and matching socks. I’ve never found interest in match-making, so I don’t match people. I think people should be with who they are sincerely interested in. But introducing individuals to one another I think is fun.

Peers… Pairs… Pears… And a fun-loving seer. Life is so magnificent. Especially when new and adventurous travels and delicious foods are involved, including pear picking and snacking with family and friends. It’s what I see. To keep myself and others excited about the versatility and delightfulness or perhaps, talents and delightfulness, of peers, pairs and pears, I’ve shared some of my pears from my recently created personal collection of images. Can you see the beauty of peers, pairs and pears as much as I was able to. I’ll also make sure to show some of my captures of the fresh pears picked with peers (relatives and friends), paired or not, but still with fresh and perfectly picked pears. BIG SMILE.

We have the capacity and potential to always be a blessing in our own lives, in the lives of others and in this magical and magnificent world of ours…
