Childhood Remembrances… I was still quite young when I started playing with fashion… I’ll say here… I began enjoying my play with clothing and accessories while in modeling school… maybe, my enjoyment began before this… it could’ve been when I started dressing-up in adult clothing at an even younger age… I was around eight or nine years old when I first pursued modeling… Styling and accessorizing clothing was part of my modeling program, although… I really learned to do so by watching adults, mostly my family, who were already in my life… There were plenty of individuals, women and men, in my immediate family, who absolutely loved to dress up, including my own mother, but usually in their own clothes… If these individuals weren’t coordinating the perfect accessory, pair of shoes and jewels with their attire… they were indeed matching something else… Women usually matched their makeup with one or more colors they had on… or they wore colors they felt were ideal compliments… Either way, a well made-up person definitely turned heads…
Emotional Independence… I do recall… it was during my elementary school years that I expressed more independence when it came to my own clothing… I learned to pick out my own clothes, buy my own clothes with the money I earned from summer work programs… I started work too around nine years of age… and I looked forward to dressing myself… I have very fond memories of this period of my life… I remember some of my favorite outfits bought by both my mom and me… the outfits I wore more than any others… I loved wearing these specific outfits, especially to a festive event or gathering taking place… They were the outfits that got my attention most, because I loved the way they looked on me… It was wonderful to not only feel good in the clothes I had on… it was too delightful to receive recognition from those who admired my choices of attire… Maybe this is what really did it for me… What made me become more aware… more alive within… more thoughtful and meticulous about what I was putting together… or simply creating… It wasn’t just the pleasing approvals and rewarding recognitions of others regarding my clothing choices that made me think more about my clothes… and that made me feel good internally… my own thoughts and gratification determined much of how I felt… It’s truly an amazingly beautiful experience to be inspired by one’s own creative choices… one’s own work(s) of art… Isn’t one’s own self-reflection… one’s own self-presentation… indeed… one’s own work(s) of art…
Work(s) of Art… While in high school… I became even more fastidious about my clothing… I also became much more creative… I was again enrolled in modeling school with another agency during this time… Albeit, fashion styling was still part of my learning… it wasn’t the most important part… increasing self-confidence and personal esteem were… The way I presented myself on the runway… while in make-up and in front of a camera, I was taught… is an act of personal identification… Who and what did I identify with… I was learning to identify with me… my own self… whether on or off the runway… in or out of makeup… in front of a camera or not… Learning more about my self… supported my ability to discover… and/or uncover… more of my own personal and creative expression(s)… Who did I want to be… I loved being me… though as a teenager… I sometimes challenged myself as it pertained to this walk… What did I want to be… I never completely framed any idea of my self… Limiting myself wasn’t encouraged in my home… Why am I choosing to be who and what I am… because I want to be who and what I will be elated by… How will I be and become who and what I am elated by… with abiding and constructive love… with joyous fun… with grateful laughter… with limitless creativity… and with who and what supports my intentions and efforts to keep my life’s journey… abundantly healthy… gloriously magical… wonderfully awe-inspiring… immeasurably prosperous… and yet… simple… graceful… soft… I am my greatest work of art…
I Am My Greatest Work of Art… worthy of the most pleasing self-reflection and the most renowned self-presentation… It’s how we all should think of ourselves… great works of art… or perhaps as… great works of architecture… immaculate and elaborate constructions… It sincerely was a phenomenal experience for me as a child to witness individuals, in and out of my family circle, who took care in artfully decorating themselves… not because it is clothes that make us who and what we are… because of what we are capable of creating through a medium we call clothing… or what we call… fashion… Fashion Is… without question… Art… We… ourselves… are indeed… art… One of a kind and brilliant works of art—architecture…
Fashion Is Art… It was wonderful too that I learned… at a young age… how my own views of my self could foster an image of me I would always like and love… To like and love who and what I see… my own self reflection… my own self presentation… is in no way… vanity… but is… to honor the life I have been gifted with… Therefore, since early on… I have been meticulously enriching my physical temple… my earthly body… my natural, exterior sanctuary… with fabrics and accessories, including footwear, I feel compliment… my mood(s)… my inner music and outer sound… better known to some as… my style… Style is really… mindset mixed with emotions… Emotions move… emotions change… it is why style is not static… Perhaps, it’s as well why I adore such a wide spectrum of colors… designs… patterns… fibers… fabrics… It is why the way I wear my clothes is too… non-static… It is why such movement causes me to continuously play… in the world of fashion… the World of Art…
Continuous Play… I love to play… art inspires me to play… to discover… to create… So I play… and play… and play… I mix and match… I take away… I put in more… I change the definition of already made pieces… and I make my own pieces with no fixed definitions… I do less… I do more… all in all… I’ve created an anthology of art that is truly my own… To explore my ideas further… I once more allowed myself to become a student… I signed up for crochet, hand knitting and sewing classes at one of my favorite places… Joann Fabrics… in Connecticut… I already knew I loved creating fashionable artwear… or wearable art… however, I hadn’t known how much I would love crocheting, hand knitting and sewing until I was in my classes bringing forth into form my very own concepts… Taking classes concretized for me… I would indeed have my own signature collection, I would love… and that others would love too… This journey of having my own signature collections is still new… yet some of my material content are born out of past concepts, but all of my content and concepts are timeless… I’m enjoying the beauty of style… the beauty of fashion… the beauty of creating… the beauty of art… and the beauty of my own personal journey—the beauty of being and becoming more and more… stylishly Me—fashionably adorned…
The Creative Spirit… The spirit of creative fashion has influenced my family for many generations… I have relatives on both sides who were and some still are designers and makers of stylishish clothing and accessories… therefore, it was inevitable for me to follow the path of creating fashionable artwear or wearable art as a hobby or career choice… Creating fashion is both… a hobby I truly love… and a branch of my career that is flourishing so splendidly my heart continues to smile… I am awed more often than not at what my creative muse conceptualizes… in thought… in vision… and in material form… Art In-spires… Creativity is In-spirational… This energy that comes from inside me always deeply moves me… I too am greatly blessed by the energy of my magnificent mentors… who consistently support and motivate me… and by the spiritual and exterior energy of the Natural World—a truly superb teacher…

I am so proud of you. When I met you (not sure where) in Hartford CT many years ago who would have thought you would be where you are today. Keep up the great work and may God keep you and your family in His care.
