Some Things Old… Some Things New… Some Things More…

Some things old… dressing up… Some things new… my beanie hat… some things more… self care and love…

It’s Spring. It’s May. A time for weddings and time to celebrate my birthday. Each day throughout the month of May I do some things special to celebrate my life. I celebrate my life within other months too, but in May, I indulge a bit more in the joyful act of gift giving to myself. May 30th is the actual day I was born. I started celebrating my birthday each day throughout the month of May when I turned thirty. For my milestone 30th birthday party I was inspired to gather together family and friends for a banquet dinner and dance party. I had so much fun with my family and friends I continued the fun each year following. Rather than wait until the end of the month to celebrate my day of birth with family and friends, I started my birthday festivities on the very first day of May.

I kept the birthday celebrations going for several years, including the birthday celebrations I planned for family and friends during their birthday months. It was truly quite a festive occasion gathering with family and friends each month to acknowledge and celebrate their birthdays. Almost every month within the year was a month to look forward to. Someone was having a birthday, which meant it was time to gather together again for a delectable meal at one of our local restaurants or one out of town we learned about. Then we ended the night after hours of dance. It’s been a while since I’ve gathered with family and friends for a birthday dinner and dance party. Times I’ll always remember. Some things old… Birthday celebrations with family and friends are memories I still cherish, but memories becoming renewed by more festive and fun times together again with family and friends…

My life’s journeys… extraordinary sojourns, adventures and memories… ”Some things old” “Some things new” “Some things more”

My birthday celebrations with family and friends will indeed begin again. I made a promise to myself some years ago I would do the things I absolutely love. Spending quality and fun time with family and friends, eating amazingly delicious foods and hours of dancing are without a second thought on my list. Travel, enjoying beautiful oases, designing indoor and outdoor spaces, inspirational writing and speaking, artistic photography, customizing, creating and branding my own clothing, accessories and home furnishings, honoring and uplifting other women and encouraging their walk into personal and professional leadership, inspiriting humanity by my life’s journey and work, more and more dancing, eating more and more delightful foods and more and more time with family and friends, old and new, are also on my list of some things old and some things new I love and will do.

Some things new… Instead of creating a list of things new I would like to have or experience, I will leave this space partly open to happenstance, serendipity, synchronicities and the raining down of fortuitous blessings upon my life, simply opening myself to exquisite surprises. The other part of things new are experiences I’ve thought about but yet to have. These things I will perhaps plan and/or just do or allow the experiences to effortlessly bring me to them. The latter sounds a little like giving in to happenstance, nonetheless, these new things or experiences are more so thought about without the detailed planning out of each event. I greatly adore living my life this way. These journeys make for totally extraordinary life sojourns, adventures and memories. Some things new… I’m excited about the here and now… I am excited about the present moments and the presents of indelible moments, and though I too plan for the future, I’ll as well keep spaces open for the unforgettable, serendipitous and synchronous life affairs.

I love a warm cup of aromatic and delightful tea… ”Some things more” please.

Some things more… Did I already say, more dancing… I think I said, more scrumptious foods too, and more travel and more quality and fun times with family and friends. Did I say, more money and holistic wealth… Yes, more money too. And more and more of the things I really do love, including a life of simplicity. Albeit, it might sound as though I am adding lots more to my life, in reality I am plainly opening myself to living more. This doesn’t necessarily mean a bigger house or more expensive car, but both are absolutely more than okay to have. A bigger house might simply mean more family and friends to gather with. A more expensive car might simply mean a more interesting journey while road trippin’. What is most important is whatever your some things more are… they keep your spirit, your mind, your heart, your body and your life smiling. Healthy and Happy are indeed some things more I will always have, experience and cherish here and now and in each new day to come… Some things old… some things new… some things more… Health and Happiness, including a healthy and happy birthday every day every month of May… Happy Birthday. BIG SMILE.

I loved this “some things new” gotten this month in May to add to my wedding concepts collection.

We have the capacity and potential to always be a blessing in our own lives, in the lives of others and in this magical and magnificent world of ours…
